Kevin Charles
Managing Director (Founder)
In 1977, a young and ambitious Kevin Charles began his journey as an apprentice in Hatton Garden, under the watchful eye of traditional jeweller Trevor Tyler. After completing his training and becoming an award-winning apprentice, Kevin started to manufacture for surrounding jewellery houses in the London area using his traditional bespoke knowledge.
It was 1986 when striving for his own personal perfection in the jewellery trade, that Kevin founded Kevin Charles Jewellery in the heart of Hatton Garden. After establishing his company, he began a journey of creating personal, bespoke and traditional jewellery for customers all across London.
His desire and passion still burns today for helping and guiding people on their own personal quest for perfection. Always seeking beauty, elegance and excellence in handmade jewellery to all shapes, sizes and specifications. Whether it’s working on a restoration project or creating a bespoke piece of jewellery from scratch, Kevin Charles always strives for absolute perfection.
Jake Charles
Director
Fast forward to 2007, a young Jake Charles filled with passion and enthusiasm – passed on from his father – embarked on his own jewellery journey.
He began his diamond mounting apprenticeship with traditional jewellery house T O’Donaghue. After completing his five and a half year apprenticeship, he managed to compete in the UK skills competition and following in his fathers footsteps to become an award winner. Jake’s hard work and creative flare was rewarded with three awards in total. Two of which were at the prestigious Goldsmiths Craft & Design Council Awards in 2012, including Best Junior in all categories and Best Junior Diamond Mounter.
Deciding to take his talents across to the luxury side of London, New Bond Street, he spent eight years perfecting his craft and plying his trade. It was during this time that Jake had the pleasure of working for two of the finest British Jewellery houses, Graff Diamonds and Boodles.
Fast forward to 2020, Jake has now joined his Father at Kevin Charles Jewellery combining their intelligence to create the finest bespoke jewellery in London. Kevin’s traditional knowledge and Jake’s Computer Aided Design (CAD) expertise combine to form a formidable partnership which is helping the business flourish in the 21st Century.
